The Language School

Kudan Institute of Japanese Language & Culture is located in the heart of Tokyo. We offer flexible courses with cultural programs that will give you an understanding of Japan that you could not find anywhere else. We actively accept high school students, college students, (junior high school students depend on a condition) throughout the year.
We do not only focus on your class life. During your life in Japan you will have an opportunity to do many activities that will allow you to experience Japanese culture. Some examples of activities that we arrange include excursions to Tokyo Disneyland, Kamakura, Nikko and Hakone, watching Sumo wrestling, wearing Kimonos and so on.

The Japanese Courses

Intensive Japanese Course

This course's purpose is focused on improve 4 skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) for leading a Japanese life.
This course also corresponds to Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) and Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), appropriate for students who wish to advance to higher education in Japan.
High advanced class corresponds to even students who have already retained JLPT.

Conversation Japanese Course

Conversation course focuses on basic grammar, vocabulary, and Japanese culture & customs in order to improve your fluency.

This course will enable you to speak with confidence. You will take the morning class 9:10-12:40.

Holiday Japanese Course

In this course (for 3-8 weeks), students learn daily conversation, Japanese culture and customs by classes, activities, and field trip to lead a comfortable life in Japan. As we arrange a host family for every student as accommodation, Japanese language skill will be sure to develop quickly.

Private japanese Lesson

Mon.-Fri. 90 or 120 minute-lessons are available anytime between 9:00-20:00 each weekday. The minimum number of lessons is one lesson/week. We offer lessons that suit your level, purpose and pace. If you don't understand something, you can ask it until it is understood. Private lessons are an effective way of improving your skills in the shortest possible time.

Accommodation options

Students have the following housing options:

Homestay: Homestay is one of the ideal ways to learn about Japan, Japanese way of life and Japanese culture directly from host family. In addition, since students have plenty of time to talk with the Japanese host family, it is for sure that you will soon be able to see the progress in Japanese learning.. All of our host families are carefully chosen by our staff through home interviews. We have about 300 host families which are currently active in our program. All our families have been selected on the basis of them having expressed an interest in sharing their culture with international students

School Dormitory: Our school dormitory is located in a quiet residential area with lots of cherry blossom trees. Every room is equipped with security service, bathroom, kitchen, refrigerator, desk, bed, and air-conditioning. A room can be used with one or two students. When a security buzzer rings, a security guard will be coming to your room within 5 minutes.
