The Language SchoolThe Italian language school, "Torre di Babele", is officially authorized by the Italian Ministry of Education and has been in operation since 1984, offering Italian language courses in Italy for students from all over the world as well as training courses for teachers of Italian for foreigners in Rome. The school is also one of the founding members of the Association of Italian Language Schools in Italy, A.S.I.L.S. (Associazione delle Scuole di Italiano come Lingua Seconda). The Italian language school is located in the historic center of Rome, in an elegant Art Nouveau neighborhood full of trees and parks near "La Sapienza" University of Rome. The Italian language school occupies two large floors of an elegant "Liberty" villa surrounded by a spacious garden with wireless internet available: the ideal atmosphere to learn and extend your knowledge of the Italian language.

Intensive Italian Courses Intensive Italian Language CourseThis Italian language course includes four hours of group lessons a day. Based on their level, participants can acquire a basic knowledge of the Italian language or improve and perfect the knowledge they already have.
Intensive-plus Italian Language CourseThis Italian language course includes four hours of group lessons plus one additional hour in a mini group daily (max 3 participants). The mini-group offers the possibility to further pursue and perfect the material covered in the first part of the lesson.
Long-Term Intensive Italian Language CourseThis Italian language course includes four hours of group lessons a day. Based on their level, participants can acquire a basic knowledge of the Italian language or improve and perfect the knowledge they already have. Long term courses are addressed to students who wish to remain for more than 12 weeks. Enrollment in any of these courses incurs a discount on the price.
Superintensive “A” Italian Language CourseThis Italian language course includes four hours of group lessons plus one hour of individual Italian lessons daily. The individual lesson offers the chance to personalize the material and the program of the rest of the course.
Superintensive “B” Italian Language CourseThis Italian language course includes four hours of group lessons plus 2 hours of individual lessons daily. It has the same structure as the Superintensive "A" but the two hours of individual lessons allow students to reach specific learning goals more quickly.
Extra Italian Courses Superintensive “B” Italian Preparatory Course for C.I.L.S. Exam (Certificate of Italian as a Foreign Language)All Italian group courses serve to prepare students for the CILS Exam. However, if you are interested in a more specific preparation, we suggest the course taught by our teachers who specialize in this area. Our Italian language school is an authorized examination centre for the CILS certificate (Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera), offered by the Università per Stranieri di Siena (University for Foreigners of Siena). The CILS certificate is a title of proficiency in the Italian language and is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Therefore, it is widely acknowledged in all fields yielding this certificate essential when seeking employment in Italy or the international labor market. Furthermore, the CILS certificate is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education and it is considered as a requirement for the admission of International students to the Italian higher education system. The successful accomplishment of the Livello CILS Due – B2 exam exempt international students from the Italian proficiency admissions test at the University.
Non-Intensive Italian Language CourseThese Italian language courses are designed for people staying in Rome for longer periods of time, and consist of two-hour lessons held twice a week in the morning, afternoon or evening. Non-intensive Italian courses are available from October to June.
Individual Italian Language CourseThe school offers individual courses that cater perfectly to personal and professional needs at all linguistic levels. Made-to-measure programs are constructed around students' specific needs and are based on the pace and rhythm of their learning ability.
Italian Courses for SeniorsVacation/study for participants of the age of 50 and up. This type of course offers the chance to combine the study of Italian with a pleasant and interesting holiday in Italy. A rich cultural program goes along with the courses. This Italian language course will be conducted in small, same-level groups in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The groups are international, making it possible to meet people from all over the world who want to combine the study of Italian with an interesting vacation in Rome, Italy. In addition, trips to museums, concerts and other cultural events can be organized. We offer the possibility of staying in single rooms in private Italian homes during the course. Language and Design Experience: Design speaks ItalianAn intensive Italian language course in Rome for lovers of design, fashion, graphic arts, film, and photography. Torre di Babele, in collaboration with "IED Rome", offers a three week full immersion course in Italian language and style, in the world capital of art, crossroads of culture and thriving cosmopolitan city. Beyond studying the language, participants get an insider’s view of a range of creative disciplines from film and photography to visual arts, fashion and architecture. The program covers design theory and planning, with visits to advertising agencies, design firms and fashion studios. The first two weeks of the program includes Italian language classes, 4 lessons daily. On the first day participants are given an oral and written test to place them at the appropriate level, from beginner to advanced. Classes are made up of a maximum of 12 students from countries around the world. Instructors are specialized in the teaching of Italian as a second language, using a direct communicative method encouraging students to actively practice the language. Particular emphasis is given to conversation skills, allowing students to express themselves and interact in Italian from the very first day of the course. Throughout the course, participants are involved in a rich and varied cultural experience offered through the “Torre di Babele” center. Participation in the program is free of charge, other than expenses for food, drinks, transportation and entrances to museums and architectural sites.
