Facts about an internship in Australia with LSI Brisbane

• To be eligible you must do a minimum of 4 weeks full time study at LSI
• An internship can run for as little as 7 weeks, or for as long as 26 weeks
• Internships are non-paid professional training positions
• There may be paid internships available in hospitality available to people working or studying in this field in own country
• Academic Credit may be obtained
• Internships are available Australia wide not just in the Brisbane Area
• Internships are available in all academic fields. Popular options are Sales, Marketing, Business Administration
• Hospitality internships are mostly in 4 - 5 star hotels and reputable restaurants
• Hospitality interns are normally paid between $12 - $15 an hour
• Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old

Requirements

• A completed application form with $500 application fee (non-refundable)
• Current resume via email
• Statement of work objectives and how the possibility of an internship would relate to your current studies or occupation via email
• Details of completed or current studies with academic results from your University
• Evidence of financial stability for your stay in Australia. This may include a copy of a bank statement or a letter of financial support from a family member. You should show you have $1500 per month for the length of your stay.
• Send your application at least 4 months (6 months for Hospitality internships) before you plan to start your internship
• Upper Intermediate or better English
• Evidence of medical accident, travel and personal liability insurance Visa
• You will need a Special Program 416 visa ($760) which can be applied for while on a tourist visa
• If you are on a student visa you can also apply for a 416 Special Program visa.
• Processing time is normally 4 - 6 weeks
