The Language School

The school is only a few minutes' walk from public transport, shops, cafes, restaurants, traditional pubs, bars, theatres, cinemas, shopping centers and Hampstead Heath, one of London's largest and most beautiful natural parks.

The school building itself is a light, spacious Victorian house with a beautiful, secluded garden - perfect for barbeque parties and sports or just relaxing at lunchtime. The school has a warm, family atmosphere and our teachers are supportive, friendly and very entertaining! It is well equipped with a library, computer room with language lab facilities, wireless Internet and a beautiful back garden!

We offer Cambridge Exam Preparation Courses, Academic English Courses (including preparation for TOEFL, IELTS and TOEIC Exams) as well as Business classes. We also offer tailor-made one-to-one courses to meet a wide variety of needs.

The English Courses

General and Examination Courses

Standard English

A course with 20 lessons per week, covering all aspects of the language from pronunciation to grammar and vocabulary to practice in the four skills.

Intensive English

Suitable for students who wish to study intensively and get a well-rounded insight into the language and country. Students follow a Standard 20 course in the morning, then intensify and consolidate the tuition in the afternoon classes.

Students on the Intensive 30 course also have the option of taking other afternoon options such as Business English or TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS Preparation- see below for more details about the afternoon options.

Afternoon English Course

A course with 10 lessons per week for students with at least an intermediate level of English. Classes are discussion based and are aimed at improving a student's listening, speaking, range of vocabulary and pronunciation.

Plus English Courses

One-to-One classes tailored to your needs, designed to supplement group courses.

Modular Business English Course

An afternoon option on the English language LSI Intensive 30 course, covering topics such as Banking and Stock Markets, Marketing and Advertising, Recruitment, Sales and Negotiating, Telephone English and Job Hunting in English.

Study English and Work Program

For the first 4 weeks you study an LSI Intensive 30 course to increase your fluency and build confidence with the language. We then place you in a work experience position closely related to your career interests or educational background, allowing you to gain the skills and confidence to pursue your chosen career.

The Cambridge Examinations in English are recognized and highly regarded by English speaking universities and companies. At LSI we offer tailored courses to prepare for these examinations.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Preparation

IELTS is a requirement for enrolment at universities and colleges in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Preparation for this exam is an afternoon option for the LSI Intensive 30 course. Courses run subject to demand.

TOEIC Preparation

This test is accepted by thousands of companies as evidence of proficiency in English in a business situation. Preparation for examinations is an afternoon option on the LSI Intensive 30 course. LSI London Hampstead is a registered test center for TOEIC meaning that you can sit your examination in the school.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Preparation

TOEFL is required by non-native speakers of English for admission to universities in the USA and Canada. Preparation for this test at LSI is an afternoon option on the LSI Intensive 30 course.
