The Language SchoolThe Toronto school is in an excellent location, on the corner of Yonge and Bloor Street, the intersection of the city's two main subway lines and a short walk from all the major attractions. The school is located in a modern air-conditioned building and is directly above an underground mall that has a wide range of facilities including coffee shops, restaurants, banks and many shops. Students in Toronto can take advantage of the school's central location to explore the city for cultural events, nightlife, restaurants and exceptional shopping. Students also have the possibility of using the computer lab for personal and academic purposes or they can relax in the student lounge area using their own laptops with the recent wireless connection. The schools opening hours: 8:30am - 5pm, Monday - Friday, including statutory holidays except for the week of Christmas. Everyone at Centre Linguista is on hand to help students adjust to life, the culture and studying in Canada. The Centre Linguista team includes a Homestay Co-coordinator, who is available for any accommodation questions or advice and the Director of Studies will help with any academic questions.
The English CoursesMini Group Intensive English Courses (25 hours per week)This course is designed to deliver maximum improvement in English in the fastest possible time. Available every week of the year, and to students of all abilities from beginner to advanced, this highly structured program is designed to give students the skills, knowledge and confidence required to succeed exams, or in their present or future occupation. The course consists of 25 hours of lessons per week in small classes of 10 participants maximum. Morning: Core language skills development program. In this part of the program students work to reach goals in area such as: Afternoon: In order to meet the differing needs of the students on the course, the afternoon lessons offer the choice between developing language skills for present or future career purposes or preparing for an official test or examination.
Individualized English Course (15 or 25 hours per week)This is the ultimate language-training program designed for the most ambitious learners. On this course the student works to reach goals in areas such as:
Combination English Course (30 hours per week)Students can choose to take the Intensive 25 course together with an additional hour of individual tuition every day. This course combines the advantages of learning in a structured group situation (maximum 10 students) for 25 hours each week, with the benefits of highly personalized attention in 5 hours of individual coaching each week. In the Combination Course students work to reach goals in area such as:
Internship (25 hours per week)Students can combine an Intensive 25 course with an internship which gives the opportunities to practice language skills in a business environment while gaining valuable, relevant international work experience. Participation requires TOEFL 80, TOEIC 750, FCE, IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. Placement in internships depends on position availability, language proficiency and work experience.
