The Ranch Stay program combines English language studies with a stay on a working ranch. The program offers horse-loving students an opportunity to work with horses and improve their English. Dreamscape Ranch  is located a little south of Kamloops, BC in the beautiful British Columbia grasslands. The friendly owners have years of experience in hosting international students and provide unforgettable experiences.

Students are expected to help out around the ranch with daily chores and will get to spend many hours working and riding the horses. This unique program is a perfect English learning program for nature and animal loving students.

Levels: Intermediate 2 to Advanced 2


Program Length:

4 weeks: 2 weeks of full time intensive study plus 2 weeks of ranch stay
8 weeks: 4 weeks of full time intensive study plus 4 weeks of ranch stay
12 weeks: 6 weeks of full time intensive study plus 6 weeks of ranch stay

Program Overview:

Fulltime Intensive Study: You can choose courses from a variety of programs offered at the school – Academic Preparation, Test Preparation (TOEFL, Cambridge, etc.), Business English, Computer Education, etc.

Ranch Stay Accommodation: There are two separate cabins for the students as well as three home-style meals provided daily. Since this is also a Bed & Breakfast and Guest Ranch, guests may be present during your stay. Everyone helps out when there are guests – entertaining, serving food, and helping out with riding lessons and trail rides.

Daily Chores: The work mainly revolves around the care and maintenance of the horses, such as feeding, walking and saddling. Additional chores include outdoor work, general clean up and housekeeping duties.

Horse Riding: The hours vary depending on the level of riding skill and the weather. Beginners will probably have an average of one hour a day since supervision and training will be required. Experienced riders may have up to 3 or 4 hours a day.

Additional Info: There are 25 horses at the ranch including mares for breeding, riding horses, horses in training, and retired horses. English Only Policy at the ranch.
