Estudio y Trabajo en Inglés de Negocios con CCEL en Vancouver

El programa de Estudio y Trabajo en Inglés de Negocios del Canadian College está diseñado para estudiantes Internacionales. Perfecto para reforzar sus habilidades de comunicación en el área de negocios a demás de que les provee de experiencia laboral en Canadá acorde a sus estudios académicos o su profesión. Este programa consiste en 50% de estudios académicos y 50% de Prácticas Remuneradas.

Contenido del Programa:

Este programa ha sido diseñado por profesionales expertos en negocios y es para estudiantes que necesiten usar el idioma Inglés para Negocios Internacionales. En el programa se ven diferentes estudios, proyectos en clase que tratan situaciones reales de trabajo y se mejora considerablemente la escritura, conversación, lectura y comprensión del estudiante.

Programa Académico:

La parte académica está compuesta por un programa de Inglés Intensivo (6 niveles opcionales) y/o Preparación para Cambridge (FCE/CAE) seguido por 12 semanas obligatorias del Programa Inglés de Negocios.

Práctica Laboral Remunerada:

En nuestro programa de PRACTICAS, los estudiantes experimentan un ambiente de trabajo Canadiense, conocen colegas de otros países, mejoran sus habilidades de comunicación y expanden sus horizontes. Las PRACTICAS remuneradas o no remuneradas, son monitoreadas, ya que tienes metas específicas y es un componente esencial del Programa BEWS.

Después de evaluar las habilidades lingüísticas del estudiante, sus estudios, experiencia laboral e intereses personales, nosotros nos encargaremos de ofrecer la ubicación en la Practica adecuada.

Objetivo del Entrenamiento:

Todos los estudiantes de BEWS tendrán entrenamiento de trabajo en el CANADIAN COLLEGE of ENGLISH LANGUAGE. El entrenamiento se dará en lo siguiente: formularán un currículo vitae adecuado, escribirán una carta de empleo convincente, harán una presentación eficaz e impresionaran al Directivo en una entrevista de trabajo.


Objetivos:

Para el término de este programa se pretende que el estudiante sepa:

   1. Crear un portafolio personal profesional el cual incluya cartas de trabajo, currículos y cartas de referencia.
   2. Mejore sus habilidades para entrevistas en Inglés
   3. Desarrollar un entendimiento mayor y una capacidad funcional de comunicación en Inglés en asignaturas de Negocios Internacionales.
   4. Estudiar Métodos y estilos de liderazgo en Negocios Norte Americanos.
   5. Examinar el rango de habilidades en una presentación
   6. Desarrollar destreza en escritura de negocios
   7. Obtener experiencia laboral en negocios a través de prácticas remuneradas o no remuneradas.

Duración del Programa:

Requisitos:

Necesitamos que los estudiantes cumplan con los siguientes requisitos antes que podamos admitirlos en el Programa BEWS:

   1. Los estudiantes deben de tener 18 años de edad o más.
   2. Los estudiantes deben de obtener un permiso de trabajo C30.
   3. Los estudiantes deben de tener el siguiente nivel de inglés:
      *Programa de 40 semanas: CCEL Intermedio Alto o Avanzado (nivel 4 o 5)
      *Programa de 48 semanas: CCEL Intermedio o Intermedio Alto (nivel 3 o 4)
   4. Función del nivel de Inglés: A los estudiantes se les pide que tomen en examen de Inglés en línea y tener una entrevista vía  web.
   5. A los estudiantes se les pide que envíen su currículo vitae y una carta de motivos, en formato Word, detallando sus habilidades y cualidades.
   6. Los estudiantes deben tener una expectativa real de la posición de la práctica. Ejemplo: No podemos encontrar o colocar estudiantes en posiciones de Gerencia en ninguna empresa.
   7. Los estudiantes deben de estar motivados, flexibles y tener una actitud profesional.

Programa de Estudio y Trabajo con GEOS en Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver o Victoria

International students will experience a real Canadian work environment, improving their English skills in a communicative way. The candidate will develop their communication skills while gaining valuable work experience. The program offers an exiting way to learn English and immerse students in Canadian culture.

The program helps students get paid positions within the service industries. From the beginning of the program GEOS will provide students support in job placement and preparation until the program ends.

Job placement in our GEOS Canada cities: hotels, restaurants, local resorts, retail shops, museums, tour companies and travel destinations in general. These places offer fun and exciting ways to live and work.

Positions offered at resorts include: guest services, retail shops, housekeeping, food & beverage service, maintenance, front-desk reception and more. Students can live and work at these resorts for a whole season or two seasons and meet people from other parts of the globe.

*All required training will be provided at the resort. Staff housing for summer and winter resort job placements is available at some resorts if employment starts at the beginning of the season, but may not be available if employment begins in the middle or at the end of the season.

Pay rate: A general guideline would be from $8 to $15 per hour.

Note: The work period must be shorter or equal to the study period.

STEP 1 Learn or improve your English at any GEOS Language Academy in Canada, for a minimum of 12 weeks in our Intensive or Full-Time English Program. In order to move on and start applying for jobs, you need to meet ONE of the following requirements:

* achieve a TOEIC score of 650 ar a TOEFL score of 70.
* Completion of GEOS Canada's level 4 (High-Intermediate) Program.

NOTE Please note that students interested in these programs must be 19 years old and must have valid Canadian Study and Work Permits (Co-op Permit) or Working Holiday Visa.

STEP 2 After completion of the Intensive or Full-Time English Program at GEOS Language Academy, students will then be provided with the relevant job placements services and training before the work program begins. Feedback and follow-up services will be provided during the work program period.

Programa de Práctica de Trabajo con LSI en Toronto o Vancouver

An excellent opportunity to practise and develop your language skills in a business environment and gain valuable work experience. The programme combines an LSI course to develop your communication skills and attain a high enough level in the language and a period of work placement. LSI offers both unpaid work experience placements and paid positions.

Paid Business Internships

• Long-term skilled placements available for experienced professionals after completion of at least 6 months of an LSI Intensive 30 course
• The length of the placement cannot exceed the length of the course
• Assistance in applying for a Canadian Work Permit will be provided 
  

Paid internships are available in Business Administration. These internships are offered in periods of between 6 months and 18 months.
Paid business administration internships are typically junior level office administration with a job shadowing component. Approximately ¼ of the internship day is spent job shadowing. This can involve observing marketing, finance, or other departments. Paid Business Administration is available in Vancouver only.

PAID HOSPITALITY WORK EXPERIENCE

• Opportunities to train as a Banquet Server and to work short-term (for entry level salary)
• LSI Intensive 30 Course for a minimum of 4 weeks prior to work experience
• Minimum placement length is 4 weeks (12 weeks recommended)
• Placement can exceed study length if student obtains Working Holiday Visa
• Countries which offer Working Holiday Visa: Scandinavia, Holland, Belgium, France, Italy, Japan, Czech Republic and Latvia.

Programa de Estudio y Trabajo con ILSC en Toronto o Vancouver

Program Description

The Work Experience Program (WEP) is a specialized program combining intensive English study with a paid internship in a Canadian work-place. WEP is offered in 6, 12, 18, and 24 month programs, comprised of 50% academic and 50% paid internship components.

In the program, you study English through a variety of courses until your language skills allow you to take internship preparation courses, specifically Workplace Preparation, Interview Skills, Business Writing Skills and Job Opportunities & Business Success (JOBS) . These mandatory courses are designed to make you highly employable in the Canadian job market. The later part of the program is a paid internship where you learn about the Canadian workplace and develop your individual skills.

Program Overview

Core English Courses: You can choose courses from a variety of programs offered at ILSC – Communication, Academic Preparation, Test Preparation (TOEFL, TOEIC, Cambridge, IELTS), Business English, Humanities.

Mandatory Internship Preparation Courses: Workplace Preparation (You will gain the knowledge and language skills to succeed in an English speaking work environment. You’ll focus on vocabulary, effective interview techniques and North American business etiquette); Business Writing Skills (You will gain skills in written communications including business
proposals. You will develop expertise in resume and cover letters); Business English Interview Skills (You will develop interview skills for success in person, on-line and over the phone. Includes video taping and critiques to improve presentation); Job Opportunities & Business Success (JOBS) (You will gain a clear perspective of Canadian workplace culture including employment standards, human resources and management issues. You will also learn strategies for working with a team, networking, and preparing for workplace success).

Internship: You may choose to purchase ILSC internship placement services in Vancouver and Toronto or pursue your own job search. ILSC placement services include helping you fine-tune your resumes, practice interviews before your actual job interviews and arranging up to five interviews. The service does not promise a placement. The success of the placement largely depends on your successful performance at the interviews. The job areas that you are interviewing for are subject to fluctuation. Specific requests for positions or employers cannot be guaranteed. Positions will likely be entry level and will vary depending on your language skills and demonstrated experience. Some major industries available are tourism and hospitality, retail, and administration. The average wage ranges between $8 ~$15/hour. Typical entry-level positions can be in any field and will vary from customer service and clerical to basic tasks.

Working Holiday: Students must study for a minimum of 6 weeks in a Fulltime Intensive program if they wish to avail themselves for the ILSC job placement service. Students must attain an “Advanced 1” level of English to qualify for this service. A minimum of 8 weeks from the time of arrival is required to arrange interviews.

Accomodation: During the internship is the responsibility of the student. In some cases, the employer or ILSC may provide assistance with accommodation but this is not part of the program nor is it guaranteed. Placements will be based on availability. Internship start dates are estimated and may vary based on employers’ requirement up
to a maximum of 4 weeks.

Requirements

You must be a high school graduate.You must also demonstrate that you have previously applied for and secured a part-time or full-time job, or volunteer work. Professional work experience is not required, but will be an advantage. The ideal candidate is positive, pro-active, and independent. If you are interested in taking the Tourism and Hospitality Management program at Greystone College , you must meet the minimum ILSC Intermediate 4 level of English in reading, writing, and communication skills.

English Level Assessment: You are required to take the ILSC online language assessment test. Once successful on the written test, a phone interview will be arranged with an ILSC academic staff member to assess your spoken English and demonstrated motivation for this program.

Programa de Experiencia de Trabajo con ELC University of Victoria

Description

The English Work Experience Program (EWEP) is an 18-week program which combines 12 weeks of intensive English classes with a 6-week professional work term.  It offers an excellent opportunity for students to develop their English skills in a challenging professional environment.

Program Features:
    * 12-weeks of intensive English classes
    * Job-preparation workshops
    * 6-week work term (120-240 professional hours)
    * Letter of Recommendation from your Employer and the Program Coordinator
    * WorldHost Fundamentals Certificate
    * Certificate of Participation
    * Homestay or UVic Dormitory accommodation

Objective

EWEP enables students to put their English skills into practice, meet Canadians and gain excellent work experience by offering positions in fields such as:

    * Tourism & Hospitality
    * Event Coordination
    * Marketing and Communications
    * Office Administration

Format

Weeks 1-12: Students attend intensive English classes and complete a series of workshops to prepare for a successful work experience in Canada.  These workshops include:

    * Skills & Experience Assessment
    * Resume and Cover Letter Writing
    * Interview Skills
    * Canadian Culture in the Workplace
    * WorldHost: Customer Service Certification

Weeks 13 - 18: Participants begin their 6-week work terms immediately after completing their English classes. During the full-time, unpaid work term, students participate in the daily activities of a Canadian organization and gain excellent experience to add to their resumes.

Entrance Requirements

    * Upper intermediate level (490) of the 12-week program or with approval of the ELC
    * A valid student visa for the duration of the program.  Students in Canada on a visitor visa are not eligible to apply.

Completion Requirements

    * Completion of 12 weeks of intensive English classes at the 490 level, in good standing
    * Attendance at all program workshops
    * Completion of all program materials, including WorldHost test, resumes and cover letters
    * Successful completion of a 6-week* professional work term

Programa de Práctica Pagada con ELC University of Victoria

The Canadian Experience Internship is a 48-week program which combines 24 weeks of intensive English classes with a 24- week paid work term. It enables you to put your English skills into practice, meet Canadians and gain excellent work experience by offering paid, customer service positions in Victoria.

Program Features:

• 24 weeks of English classes plus a 24-week paid internship
• Job-preparation workshops
• WorldHost® Customer Service Certification
• Certificate of Participation
• Homestay or Dormitory accommodation

Weeks 1-24: You will attend intensive English classes for 30 hours per week and complete a series of workshops to prepare for a successful work experience in Canada.

Weeks 25-48: During the full-time internship, you will work between 20-40 hours per week in entry-level positions where you will gain valuable experience for your résumé.

Program Eligibility:

• Upper intermediate level (490) of the 24-week program or with English Language Centre approval
• A valid student visa for the duration of the program. Students in Canada on a visitor visa are not eligible to apply.
