La Escuela de Inglés LTC es una escuela de idiomas amigable, de tamaño medio y acreditada por el Consejo Británico que se ubica en un área residencial de Brighton & Hove; el destino turístico de playa más famoso del Reino Unido. Nos encontramos cerca del mar y por autobús llegas muy rápido al centro de la ciudad. Nuestras familias del programa de homestay son de muy buena calidad y se encuentran a 20 minutos caminando de la escuela; algo inusual para Brighton & Hove. La escuela cuenta con varias instalaciones para nuestros estudiantes; hay un cuarto de estudiantes, cocina, un laboratorio de idiomas así como un centro de auto-estudio en donde pueden trabajar en ejercicios en computadora y utilizar los libros.
También contamos con un centro de cómputo en donde se puede acceder a Internet para revisar e-mails así como realizar tareas.
La escuela tiene su propio jardín para relajarse durante el verano, si es que no prefieren ir a la playa.
Nuestros asesores de alojamiento y de inscripciones están para ayudar a los alumnos con cualquier problema que tengan y para aconsejarlos. Como la escuela se localiza en una calle de mucho comercio, encuentras todo lo que necesites en 200 metros; como supermercado, lugares para comer etc… La escuela tiene regularmente un programa social con por lo menos tres eventos por semanas en el área de Brighton, incluyendo deportes, cine e ir de compras en Brighton o en otras villas cercanas a Sussex.
También se organizan excursiones por el sureste de Reino Unido y viajes de fin de semana a Dublín, Edinburgh y París. 20 Lessons/ 15 hours of study per week or 28 Lessons/ 21 hours of study per week During the course you will develop all four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. Both grammar and vocabulary are also important components of the lessons. Lots of speaking practice is built into the lessons and your pronunciation will be improved with lessons every week in our language laboratory. Regular revision tests are given and homework is given every day. You will have a tutorial at the start of your programme to help assess your aims and set some targets for improving your English. You will then have other tutorials during the programme to look at your progress and give you advice on how to keep improving your English. Students who are studying for more than 4 weeks will have regular progress tutorials. The tutorial process also ensures students are moved up to the next level as soon as they are ready. There is the possibility to take IELTS, KET, PET, FCE, CAE or BEC exams (we can also offer the TOEIC or TOEFL exams by special arrangement) and to transfer to an exam preparation programme if your English is the correct level and we have spaces in the examination classes. You can study for IELTS, Cambridge First Certificate English ( FCE) or Certificate in Advanced English (CAE). You can also study for the Cambridge BEC (Business English Certificate) alongside your exam course.

Social and Cultural Activities and Excursions :
- Three afternoon activities every week (fun activities, sports and local visits)
- A full day excursion every Saturday. You will have the chance to go to London and also to visit places like Oxford, Cambridge, Canterbury or Bath and Stonehenge.

Curso Inglés Privado y en Grupo Pequeño 5 to 28 lessons/ 4.5 to 21 hours of study per week We can offer as many lessons as you like (depending on visa requirements) tailored specifically to your needs. You can also choose when to have lessons (depending on classroom and teacher availability). If you have colleagues or friends and would like to be in a small group, that's fine.
Individual Tuition is good for you if you have:
- limited time to achieve your targets
- prefer to have lessons planned just for you
- are happy to be one-to-one with your teacher
- have specific needs e.g legal English, preparing a presentation for a conference, a short time to prepare for a special exam, write a report.
We can also offer you Combination English - that is General English or Exam Preparation in the mornings and Individual Tuition in the afternoons.
Individual tuition at LTC Brighton is based on 45 minute lessons.
This course can be useful if you are a complete beginner or are very advanced and your needs not fit into a normal language class.
We can offer specialised courses for individual or small group tuition (e.g. English for IT technicians, Business English).
Before the course begins, we will send a Needs Analysis form for you to complete.
If you need work related to your company, please bring examples of relevant documents if possible. Programa de Estudio y Trabajo Internships in local Brighton companie organisation (unpaid placement) This programme gives you the opportunity to take an English language course followed by an internship spent working in a company/organisation in Brighton or the surrounding area.
It gives you a chance to practise your English in a real working environment and you will hopefully gain experience that will help you to get a job.
You study English at LTC English Academy first. This can be General English or our Exam Preparation Course. After your English language course has finished, you move on to your internship.
When can you do your internship?
We can arrange an internship at any time of year, but remember that many English companies close for a few weeks at Christmas time.
You would normally begin your internship as soon as your English language course finishes. You need a good intermediate level of English before your internship begins ans for the same placements a heigher level of English magte required.
We work with Stages UK, a work placement agency that has been arranging internships in the Brighton area since 1992. They have extensive contacts with local companies and have experience of placing students from all over the world. internships in hotels around the UK (paid industry placements) This programme is a “sandwich” course. It begins with an English programme and is followed by a period working in a hotel in the UK. You will then return to LTC Brighton for a short time to complete your programme. This programme is mostly for people who have experience of hotel or restaurant work or who are studying hospitality management. You study a language course at LTC in the mornings (General English or Exam Preparation) and a business skills at the Pitman Training Centre in the afternoons.
You will work towards a LTC Certificate and Pitman Certificate(s).
The Pitman programme is “guided self-study” course covering a wide range of subjects. You study at your own speed using computer based materials and there are qualified Pitman training tutors to help you complete all the tasks. With a pass rate of 100% for students competing the course over a number of years the programme is very well thought of locally and has trained well over 1000 people to teach English.
Using the expertise of our staff and the resources for our CELTA programmes, we are also able to offer tailor-made teacher development programmes at certain times of the year. Inglés para High SchoolIf you are a student who has competed some of your high school education in your home country, you can transfer to complete your high school in the UK and follow our pathway programme to a UK University.
1. First you study English at LTC and take the IELTS exam.
2. Then you go to Varndean College in Brighton for two years’ A-level studies.
3. The programme also guarantees you a conditional offer from either Brighton University and Sussex University (this means you have a place if you achieve the right grades in your A-Level exams). Why go to LTC first? The primary reason is to improve your general English and then to take the IELTS examination!
But that’s not all. A language school like LTC is a good place for young students to have their first experience of life in Britain. We are a small, friendly and caring school specialising in international students where everybody knows everybody.
Because all our students are from outside England, everyone faces the same challenge to adapt to life in a new country. It’s easier to make friends, and the other students will help and support you. Also, our staff and our host families are very experienced at helping students in this position.

You must be at least 16 years old. Send us details of your education in your country and we will let you know if you can do A-Levels.
When you finish studying English at LTC you will need to obtain a suitable IELTS score.
